Spiral Balances | Pivot Shoes

A quick learner from Sunset Beach, NC says:
I am looking at replacing some broken balances and some shoes. I am attaching pictures of 2 that have broken and taken off. Best I can tell they are 3/8" in diameter. They are definitely yellow tipped. As far as length it is difficult to say exactly as the ends have broken (plastic). One seems to be 35 1/2 and the other 28 1/2. I don't see any 1/2 measurements on your products. So would you round down or up?

2nd question. I don't want to replace all the shoes but can you give me an idea of which pivot shoe you think these are (see pictures) I have replaced all the pivot tilt bars in the windows already. Some shoes (north side of house) are rusting badly while others not so bad. Windows 19 years old.

Thanks for help!

Thanks for posting, Peggy. These look like Series 900 spiral balances to me. Since your tubes are all on the 1/2", you want to round up.

I would also weigh your sash on a scale to confirm the proper tip color. Looking at your photo, your old tips look like they might have been white and just became discolored with age. It happens sometimes. Getting your sash weight will let you be 100% sure.

As for the pivot shoe, our 15-212 is close but you will need to compare your dimensions to ours to confirm.
