I need to replace the spiral balance tubes (2) and balance shoes (2) in one of my windows. Please advise which parts I need. Also please provide a procedure for replacing the balance shoes. Thanks.
The various lengths of the spiral balance components are as followings:
1 Spiral balance tube (only) - 29"L
2. Spiral balance tube + spiral component retracted - 30"L
3. Spiral balance tube + spiral component extended - 58.5"L
Thanks for posting. While it's hard to tell without seeing the shoe removed from the window, I believe you should look at our 15-173 9/16" Thick Pivot Shoe. Just compare the dimensions with your old part to be sure.
As far as your spiral balances, the only component you need the length of is the metal tube--but not including the colored tip or spiral coil. So if your metal tube is 29", then you need a spiral balance of this length from either from our Series 600 or Series 900.
