Spiral Tilt Window Balancers

A home owner from Elliottsburg, PA says:
Good morning. Currently I have red tipped spiral tilt window balancers 5/8 x 22, although the windows are heavy and I'm wondering if I could replace them with the black tipped spiral balancers? We have had the windows for quite a few years and the windows never stayed up like they should have. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Annette

Hello

It sounds like your balance might just need to be recharged using the 75-006 charging tool. See our related media guides to assist you.

Regarding the black tip S600-22 spiral balances, they are used for sashes weighing between 30-40 lbs. You can consider a blue tip for sashes between 10-29 lbs., but they will need to be charged as well. Thanks for posting.
