Spiral Window Balance Question

In a spiral balance for a tilt window, you typically see two pins because the lower pin is what you attach the charging tool to; the upper pin connects into the 'crown' of the pivot shoe, and the lower pin remains visible for access when you want to remove the spiral balance.
