I don't believe they ever made a Series 900 in this length. 42" is huge for such a skinny balance. My worry is that it wouldn't be able to carry the weight of the sash. These are very skinny balances. Can you confirm the diameter of that tube?

I looked again and you are correct. The window stop is 14" long! So the balance nor window goes all the way to the top.In the picture you can see the screw 13" down. The spiral balancers are 29". Thank you!

Great, if your balance tube measures 29" long and has a diameter of 3/8", the S900-29 should work for you. You'll just need to locate the colored tip at the base of the tube or weigh the window sash and follow the chart under the balance product description. Thank you!
