Spiral balance attachment

This is looking up the side under the bottom sash..could this b some type of side clip for the spring to attach to?if it is a side mounted clip shouldnt i be able to get the sash out to properly identify and replace springs..single hung nontilt window..white aluminum

Thank you for reaching out to us. If this is an aluminum window then the sash may not be designed to be removable. I'm thinking it's probably builder's grade which was inexpensive and mass-produced windows that were meant to be replaced entirely, not repaired. Most companies who made them are either out of business or simply don't make them anymore, unfortunately.

Now that doesn't mean it's impossible but it does mean that this is a bigger project to fix than it would be for other windows. With that said, disassembly of the frame is necessary to get the sash out.
