Spiral balance on double hung window

Question

I just replaced all 4 spiral springs balances measuring 27 x 5/8.  I charged the springs with 12 turns on each side, but the top window wants to slide down 1/2 inch to an inch no matter what I do.  I can't tighten the balance anymore or I won't be able to get the window up or down.  Not sure what I need to do to get the window to stay up?

Thanks for reaching out to us. As a rule of thumb, anything over 5 turns is too much, However, it's odd that the window is still falling after charging it that many turns. That makes me think you may have the wrong tip color. Can you confirm the exact weight of the window sash?
