Spiral balances for Alcoa tilt windows

Quick Learner from New Jersey
I have 4 Alcoa tilt windows (2 are 21 inch wide and 2 are 25 inch wide) windows weigh around 12 pounds each. I need to replace the spiral window balances- the current spirals have a blue tip and are 3/8 wide and measure 29 inchs long- the window has markings 2050 29.125 redo marked on them -windows were in our new construction home of 17 years old.

I would like to order 8 spiral window balances and one spiral balance charging tool -the bottom part of the spiral has metal tips on the end -i would also like to order 2 of the plastic insert that the metal bar extending from the windoe inserts into the platic piece that goes just below the spiral balance - I hope I didn't confuse you but I do need expert help thank you Andrew

Hey, Andrew. Since your balance tube has a 3/8" diameter and is 29" long, I recommend going with our S900-29 spiral balance. Just make sure that you're only measuring the tube. For the charging tool, check out our 75-006.

The other two parts sound like the pivot shoe and pivot bar. Unfortunately, I don't know what kind you have. There isn't anything that specifically goes with the S900-29. I would have to see a few pictures of your pivot shoe and pivot bar fully removed from the window, along with detailed dimensions. That will help us come up with a good replacement. Thanks!

Sure. Before I recommend a tip though, can you confirm that the diameter of the outer tube is 3/8"? Usually Blue Tips are used for balances whose outer tube diameter is 5/8", or 9/16".

In either event, the best way to make sure you get the correct tip color is to weigh your sash. If you can give me that weight, I can recommend the best color option for you.
