Attached are 2 photos of a 36" broken spiral metal balance from one of my 20 A &H vinyl clad tilt double hung windows. Do you carry a replacement part for this and other alike but differently sized windows? Help! The windows are in perfect shape but the balances have eroded due to our proximity to the seashore, Please respond. Thank you.
There are 2 balances on each double hung A & H tilt window (mfg. 3/06) and the one pictured below is precisely 36". I managed to pull it out through the vinyl side support. It did not have any kind of cover over it. Rather the 3/8 " metal spiral was attached to a small black vinyl horizontal support that was enclosed in the window casing itself. Below is an additional photo showing one of the balances still intact in the window casing. Does this help? I have 20+ windows that are mostly inoperable because one or more balances has broken on each window. Local contractors are disinterested in helping; they would prefer that I purchase 20 new windows. These window are in excellent condition (no double pane leakage or vinyl splitting) but for the balances. If I can secure the balances, I can probably find someone who will replace the existing ones that are failing. Help!

Thanks for reaching out to us! I'm sorry to say that we would not be able to supply you with the replacements for your jamb liner spring balances. If this is a vinyl window, you'll need to try contacting the window manufacturer, if they are still in business. However, if this is a wood window, you'll need to contact a local mill work in your are to see if they can get you set up with the right replacement.
I do apologize that we cannot be of assistance with this repair.
