It is 35". I first measured including the end metal piece instead of just the tube

Thanks for posting. Looks like your balance has broken. This is a very special type of balance that will need to be custom made. We can help, but we will need more information before we can get started. First, can you tell me the length of the gray outer tube? Also, what does the stamp read? I can somewhat make it out, but not the whole thing. Can you also confirm the weight of the sash?

These balances are built with a specific pre-calibrated tension, so they are not designed to be charged like other spiral balances. That is one of the reasons why we need to know what the stamp reads.

The gray tube is 351/2" the diameter is 5/8. The sash weighs 48.5 Lbs. the writing on
the tube is balul 3556 unique 6/11/2007. This is a non tilt, single sash. Was made by kinco but sold by Atrium. This is a Hurricane window
