Approximately 3/8 in diameter and has a blue tip. Total length from tip to bottom of blue tip is 28 1/2. Sash is 40 wide by 28 tall

From your photos, this appears to be a 5/8" Series 600 tilt balance. When measuring the diameter to verify, measure the plastic tube, not the interior spring. Our Series 600 balance tubes are metal, not plastic, so they hold up UV light. For 28-1/2", go up to the S600-29 with a blue tip. Our charging tool, 75-006, would also be helpful in the installation.
