I'm afraid I can't advise on what balance would be appropriate for your window without more information. You can upload your photos directly to this page for me to review. Note that I may request additional photos afterwards, but I have to know what to ask for, first.

Thank you. This looks like a tilt window spiral balance, though it is heavily damaged. Was there once an outer tube covering this spring, either metal or plastic? That tube is generally how these are sized.

Assuming so, and assuming that it was 9/16" or 5/8", then you can use our Series 600 as a replacement. However this is mostly an educated guess. Seeing a version of this balance in undamaged condition would allow me to make a more confident suggestion.

Thanks a lot for this quick answer.
I am not sure I understand what you mean by "damaged". You mean real damaged or just "dirty" ?

I mean for real damaged. That spring you see should not be exposed; at least, not if it's the kid of balance I think it is. There should be some kind of casing around it. The fact I don't see it makes me think it's either heavily damaged, or, if no such casing existed, that you have something else entirely.

The problem is, if no casing existed to begin with then I'm not sure what this balance might be. That's why I was hoping there might be one in better condition so that I can have a little more context.
