It sounds like you're referring to a type of balance system. Can you show us pictures of the hardware in question, even if it's still in the window? I'll know better how to proceed from there. |

Hello! This is a coil balance system. Yours in particular looks like a match for our Certainteed setup. The parts that you should consider are our 15-192 shoe, Series 170 and Series 171 springs, and finally the 15-156 cover and 15-157 bearing. The video below will show you how all these parts work together. We don't have a video on how to replace this particular setup, but we do have a video for one that follows the same principles, more or less. I'll share that, too. |
