Storm door handle

A home owner from Oak Park, IL says:
The screws in the handle are 2 inches apart. No markings. The finish has seen better days, but the main issue is that a spring coils around the inside of the handle and it has lost its elasticity and doesn't hold the handle up any more.

Is there an easy replacement for it, or do I need to re-drill the door and recut the frame for a new latch?

Thanks

Hello! It definitely sounds like you need to replace the latch itself. While we don't sell this exact style, I believe our 40-050 will replace it. Look it over and see what you think.

I'm not sure what you mean when you mention redrilling and recutting the frame. That shouldn't be necessary to install a new interior latch. Can you elaborate?
