Hi, I need to replace this handle on my storm door. I think I've located the handle I need, but I am unable to remove the part that fits in the door, the lock cylinder, I think.
The plate is 6"x1 3/8" , the screw holes are 4 3/4" on center. The lock cylinder is 1 3/4" long. The plate on the side where the cylinder goes in is just over 1 1/2" wide and just over 2 1/2" in height.

That's what I was thinking for the part. Can you help me on removing the cylinder?

I removed the screws on the face plate, but the cylinder stops from being removed right at the end of pulling it out.

The mortise latch should just pull out from the edge of the door. If not, something could be blocking it. I'd suggest reinstalling the lever handle back into the latch and turning it a few times. Maybe that will stop the hang-up keeping you from removing it.

Thank you. I'll try that. Have a great day!
