Storm door making noise

That pinging sound you hear could be the door closer. Try lubricating the bar piston and see if that helps. As for the glass being hard to operate, I would try a type of silicone spray to lubricate the tracks here, as well. You could also try using a wax stick like our 75-077. I would try lubricating first before replacing any parts on the door. You'd be surprised to see how many times that's all you need.
