In your case you might be safer with the 1-1/4" diameter wheel. If the 1" was only just shy, then 1-1/2" would be overkill. Also keep in mind that these rollers can be adjusted, meaning you can raise and lower the housing. In most cases that makes up for any difference in wheel diameter. With the proper adjustments you may very well be able to use the 1" wheel you have now. Our rollers can carry your door weight, but they are still nylon. Regardless of how much weight this kind of roller is rated to carry, nylon is always going to be weaker than steel. There's just no way around that. All that aside, these rollers are typically expected to have a lifespan of 10-15 years depending on frequency of use. |
