Switching Yellow Tip with Red/Green Tip

I have the equivalent of the 29" long, 3/8" diameter Series 900 spiral balances for a window sash that weighs just under 19lbs. The current spiral balances are all yellow tip, which appears too strong. Am I OK switching to a red or green tip?

We're these balances always too strong for the window? If you're confident that your balances are a match to our S900-29 and your sash weighs 18 pounds, I would recommend green tip balances to provide the correct amount of support for your windows. Thank you!
