Is it possible to know the total thickness of the hinge in its closed position?

Thank you for your patience during this busy season. The height of the hinge is measured when the hinge is in the closed position, yes. The height of a heavy duty hinge like the 36-028HD is 5/8" . On a standard hinge like the 36-024, the height would be 1/2".
