Problem: TRACO single hung Miami Dade Hurricane window.
Top plastic slide is broken and is not visible.. I suspect it has broken and fallen between the mechanism frame and the window frame. I can manually raise the window to the top stop, but the metal mechanism is too long to come out from the bottom. The other side is also out of the track, making things more difficult.I propose cutting the metal frame in half to allow me to remove it. All the mechanical parts inside the frame are discarded. I think this will enable me to get a better idea of what to do. Do you have other suggestions to remove the mechanism frame?
The numbers from the mechanism metal frame are as follows--
230S, (then listed top to bottom) BSI, then listed listed left to right, on their side) OP34
I
230S S OP34
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Thanks for your inquiry, James. We believe you have side load balance system and the plastic slide might be the top sash guide that is broken. I have placed some helpful tutorial videos for you on this page we feel may offer some additional insight to you. I highly recommend not to cut anything until you send some photos of your hardware.
