I'm trying to identify a replacement tandem roller assembly for an aluminum sliding patio door manufactured around 1993. I've removed the original assembly and attached photographs showing its construction and measurements.
Original roller specifications (approximate):
Housing length: 3 7/16"
Housing width: 3/4" nominal (caliper measurement approximately 0.710")
Housing height: approximately 1 1/8"
Wheels: Two 1 1/8" diameter concave steel wheels
Construction: Yellow zinc-plated stamped-steel housing with an adjustable inner carriage
Adjustment: Phillips-head screw at one end
The assembly slides lengthwise into the aluminum bottom door rail after removing the vertical frame member. The housing also has several stamped notches and cutouts, although I'm unsure whether these are important for securing the assembly.
I'm leaning toward your part #81-138B, as the dimensions and overall design appear to be a very close match.
Could you review the attached photographs and confirm whether the 81-138B would be a suitable replacement, or recommend a better match?
I need two complete assemblies.
Thank you for your assistance!

That looks exactly like my part. The only concern is that my wheels are distinctly 1 1/8 inch. Is there a 1 1/8 version or could my wheels just be worn down? The 1 1/4 may work but if not is there a way to swap out the wheels.

Thanks for reaching out. You may be able to adjust the housing to accommodate for the difference in the wheel diameter.
If that does not help, our next best suggestion is the swap out the wheel with the 81-223 1-1/8" dia Replacement Steel Concave BB Wheel and the 81-310 Roller Axle Repair Kit. Take a look at the tutorial below for instructions.
Keep in mind, altered hardware cannot be returned/refunded. Our full return policy can be viewed here: Return Policy.
