The lock fell through the door.

Question

Hi. We lived in our home for only a year and the door had always been hard to latch:lock. Then all of a sudden it was not locking. So we removed the lock. Well, we tried to remove the lock to take a look at it and it fell through the door. We have no clue on how to get it out. The only thing on this door is a blue sticker at the top. That says

And then there is a letter G at the bottom.

Can you help us identify the problem and what part we need?

Hello,

Unfortunately, we can't be sure of which part you need without seeing the original but if you have a sliding glass door, you may need the 82-218 mortise lock. This lock can easily fall since the installation tabs are mounted inside the door frame.

Take a look and compare the dimensions to the specifications of your door. We've also related a video that shows how to hold the lock with pliers while installing the replacement so that it doesn't fall into the door frame as well. Thanks for posting!
