The lock handle just spins

I would recommend removing the inside handle to determine if the latch spindle may be broken. If not, then you can use a slotted screwdriver to engage the mortise where the thumb latch inserts to determine if the latch will engage when you mimic the function of the 82-107 thumb latch. If it doesn't, you'll need a new mortise lock, which resembles our 82-218. Take a look and see how the specifications compare to your part. Thank you.
