The lock won't catch to lock door

Thanks for posting. This handle set looks like our 82-086. Please compare. It's possible the real issue is the mortise lock in the door no longer working; you can test this by removing the handle set and try manually throwing the lock with a flathead screwdriver. If it doesn't budge, then you know the lock must be replaced. See our 82-218.
