Thank you for posting. After extensive research, we have been unable to find a replacement for this operator. The only solution we can come up with is using our 39-264 and 39-362 as replacements, though we cannot guarantee that this will work. I am sorry we cannot offer a more definitive solution.

I too hoped to find the F-9970A-8 and have come up short everywhere...

I See the suggestion above (39-264) and don't like it.

the short forearm (thinking of the geared pivot as the shoulder joint and the middle part as the upper arm... would bump into the window... I wonder why you did not suggest: 39-382 it has a very similar geometry to the F-9970A-8... mainly in the LONG forearm.

The 39-382 may have a similar arm, but the base is a very different design and would require more extensive retrofitting of the sill to even install. That's also assuming it even works after that, which isn't a guarantee. Matching the arm is important, but it's usually easier to work around that than a totally different style base.

To be clear, both operators are going to require extensive retrofits to even have a hope of working. In my estimation, the 39-264 would probably require the least amount of work between the two, but I really don't think either one is going to work. The design in both cases is far, far too different.
