You weren't kidding, this is definitely an unknown part. I've never seen it before. Can you tell me what the function of this part is, exactly? Could this just be one bit off of a larger mechanism, or is this all there is? Could I see a picture of it installed?

A quick learner from Florida says:

There is a small pin on the moving window that is pulled up into this hook. When closed the window is secured at the top by the hinge and in the middle by the pin being pulled up into the hook.

The parts that your web page displays shows my plastic part with out the hook. Item Number 36-018B. It might be possible that it is no longer one piece and now the hook is separate from the hinge point.

Thank you! This is still a mystery to us, but we are researching a possible replacement. Please give us a little time as we try to dig up something similar to this part. We appreciate your patience and we hope to get back to you soon.

I got some good news! We were in fact able to track this part down. We are just working on having stock made up for us to add to our inventory. Please give us a little time to have that done, and I'll let you know the moment it's available.

Alright, please see our new 36-085 vent lock pair. I think you'll find these parts match your old hardware quite well.
