I am wanting a more durable replacement.

This is the exact correct part but it "self destructs" after 5 years.

Hmm...We do not have a real answer why the top locking bracket of your pivot shoe is pulling horizontally out of the nylon pivot shoe body. It is made to be secured from the vertical pressure of the spiral balance pulling and pushing on the pivot shoe. I am afraid we do not offer another type of pivot shoe for you to replace. The only other option would be to replace what you have with a complete new balance system.
