Tight double hung windows, how can I loosen balance?

Hello, how can I losen my vinly double hung windows? They have spiral balance. also some of them don't stay up. how can i fix that?

What can I do?

Thanks for posting! Take a look at our tutorial video on how to replace a tilt-window spiral balance. This shows the best method for relieving tension on a spiral balance. It also shows the best method of tightening them, which will help with those pesky windows that won't stay up!
