Hello,

We can't be sure based on a damaged latch but the 26-390 and 26-391 come to mind. To confirm, take a look and compare the dimensions below to an intact latch. You'll notice that the top of our latch is rectangular but that won't be an issue as long as the measurements match since the part that installs in the sash has the same rounded back. Thanks for posting!

It is not damaged it is a round one, I am not sure how to take measurements as it is a slim latch and most latches from Amazon are large and do not fit in the space as they are too deep, so possibly over the 5/16, again not sure. Can I order just two one left, one right and try them out? Can they be returned if they don't fit?

Can I change them to be screwed in sitting on top rather than internal.

Thought are appreciated.

I understand that the top of a different shape but that part just sits on top of the sash, not inside the sash cutout, so it shouldn't be a problem. The damage that I mentioned was referencing the missing locking tooth at the end of your latch used to keep the sash inside the jamb. Ultimately, you would need to compare the dimensions we provided to confirm if it's a match.

It's also unlikely that you would be able to install a surface-mounted latch with screws since your latches install in a cutout in the frame. If you decide to order a pair from our website and run into any issues, our return policy can be found here
