Tilt in latches

Home Owner from Indianapolis
Both the latch slide that retracts the catch that allows you to tilt window in to clean and the catch that keeps window in place and retracts to allow tilt. Either one or both are broken on one side or other or both on most of our 13 windows.

Hello there!

We'd be happy to help with this but I'm afraid we'll need more information. Specifically, we need to know the length of the prongs as well as the distance between them. Yours appears to be broken so you'll have to get an undamaged sample for accurate measurements. It would also be helpful if we could see a photo of the internal latch removed from the window.

Thank you kindly for the additional photos! I'm sorry to say that this latch was discontinued and is no longer available.

In situations like yours, we recommend converting to a surface mount latch to fit over top of where the old internal tilt latch installed. Take a look at the video below that will guide you through every step of this process. You'll then need to find a tilt latch that will fit the space available; we have detailed dimensions in each case that you can use as a reference.
