Tilt latch for Certainteed Window

Question

A CertainTeed Newcastle II window was opened too aggressively and snapped off the tip of the tilt latch (right latch). Window made circa 2003. Looks like the latch should just slide out of the window frame. However, I didn't want to force it without knowing for sure and obtaining replacement parts.
