Tilt latch installation

I want to buy top tilt latch 26-317. From looking at my window, I can't figure out how I would replace the latch. Is there a place where I can see some instructions on how to do this? Thanks!

I think this part just snaps in. Check out the image below to get an idea of what it may look like.

Our latch is more recessed. Please see the pictures I have attached. Maybe I need a different latch? Please let me know what you think. Thank you.

Please let me know if I need replacement latch 26-317, and any directions on how to replace this latch that is recessed in the window.

I'm not sure if we can help you. I don't think our 26-317 is a match, You may want to substitute with a surface-mount tilt latch. Watch the video below to see how.
