Tilt-out Windows

Hi, have 6 windows with the same balance problem - can't see any identifying marks and in fact, the coil where it connects with the plastic broke off - actually heard them snap/break in two of the windows.

Old prefab home built 2001 - will need all the parts that comprise a window x 6.

Hoping you can help - located in Ontario, Canada.

Thank you,

RobĀ

Hi Rob, thank you for posting,

To further review, are we able to see pictures of the pivot shoe that these coils attached to? This part is most likely still in the sides of the window channel. Seeing the pivot shoe, will help us determine the series of coils that are needed for the window. Thank you!

Thank you,

Unfortunately we do not carry your exact pivot shoe. In your first photos, you are showing the 15-143 and 15-44 spring housing that is compatible with the Series 152 coil springs. If you only need these parts then review the stamped number on the original coil to confirm the weight option needed.

The pivot bar is the 26-272. I see it broke off from the end of the vinyl sash. You will need to fill in that section of the sash with a piece of wood or metal to accept the pivot bar.

Now if you need to replace the pivot shoe as well, the Series 152 coils would not work in this case. We recommend comparing the dimensions of the 15-228 pivot shoe along with the Series 160 coil springs. You would also need a new pivot bar, please start by reviewing the dimensions of the 26-454 to see how the installation holes match up.

Dimensions for 15-228
Dimensions for 15-228

Dimensions for 26-454
Dimensions for 26-454

If you would like to go this route, please provide the weight of the sash and we can help with choosing the correct weighted spring options and new covers. Let me know what you think!
