Tilt sash pivot bar

Quick Learner from Maryland
Trying to get replacement tilt sash pivot bar for a very old (30 years approx) window aluminum double hung that has no identifying information. It looks very much like your part 26-226 but its single screw hole is just inside 2 inches from the outside of the pin. Number 9749 is stamped on it. The measurements The length and thickness and shape all seem to match. Any problem with carefully drilling another hoe in the channel to accommodate the different screw position? Would it be unwise to drill another hole in the pin?

Hello,

It sounds like you may have the same pivot bar shown in another customer post here. If so, you may want to consider the 26-030, which is a similar style to the 26-226 but has more versatile installation holes. Take a look and see if this might work for your repair.

In follow up to my phone call yesterday I am sending the attached photos to try to identify parts to repair an oldf window whose brand is unknown. On the Pivot pin please note that the screw is 2 1/2 " from the thicker end. I wqas unable to match this 3" pon to anything I could find on the site. For the coils there is a photo of the broken lower piece still in the Track and the upper piece removed. The coil tape had separated.

please be advised that your Pivot Bar 26-030 which has elongated, oval shaped screw holes will probably fit my window but are 1/2 inch shorteer that the old pivot pin. It is a rather large double pane gas in middle sash, double hung window. About 36" wide and about 34" and pretty heavy. Is the 2 1/2" Pin strong enough? What weight window is it rated for? Thank you very much. Please call my cell phone listed below tomorrow, Monday, with any questions or follow up. There are 2 disabled people living in the Unit and I want to resolve this as soon as possible

It looks like you have the 15-180 balance shoe, which is used with the Series 190 coil springs, 15-181 double support, and 15-182 bushing. As for your pivot bar, they do not have a specific weight rating but as long as the backset of the installation hole matches yours, the difference in overall length shouldn't be a problem. If you decide to give it a try and run into any issues, our return policy can be found hereWe'll also relate a few videos on this page to assist you through the repair process.
