Tilt shoe and springs

A home owner from Chapel Hill, NC says:
Tilt shoe and springs. No obvious markings. Shoe is 1 1/4" wide, 1 3/8" tall and 1/2" deep. Springs are ~ 1 1/8" wide and 1/2" deep. Windows have no markings either.

Take a look at our 15-175. This shoe uses our Series 152 Coil Springs. Give us the exact weight of your window sash, and we can work out what you need for the spring weights.

Yes, if the coil springs are undamaged then you'd be fine just replacing the pivot shoe. Coil balance hardware is modular, meaning if certain components are fine, you can usually reuse them.

A home owner from Chapel Hill, NC says:
yes, this look like the right one. After reviewing all of the windows in the house, i think we will need to replace many of these, but the springs look fine. The windows range from 15.4 to 22.7 lbs. does it make sense to replace the tilt shoe only if the springs all look OK?

Are they bent in a way that suggests wear, or like an offset that was actually manufactured intentionally? Can I see a picture? In our experience, offset usually doesn't really make a difference with pivot bars; we've replaced ones with an offset with ones that lack it and they work fine. But it's still best to see to be certain.

A home owner from Chapel Hill, NC says:
Great, thanks! We also (now) noticed that the pivot bars all look bent. Strangely, for all windows, they are ALL bent exactly the same amount in the same place. We thought this was the way they were made until we looked at the ones on your site, which look straight (looks like 26-030). Since the sash tightly locks currently, would it make it more difficult to lock them if we put in straight tilt-bars? Or maybe it would make them better... can't tell.
A home owner from Chapel Hill, NC says:
Looking more carefully at the pivot bars, I'm pretty sure they are not supposed to be bent. They are just old and have sagged over time. I've attached some pictures, but it looks like the 26-226 is the right one. Do you agree? I'll probably just go through and replace most of them.

Bob from SWISCO responded:

Yes, I agree this definitely just looks due to wear, and the 26-226 is what I would recommend, so long as the mounting holes align.

A home owner from Chapel Hill, NC says:
Thanks for your help! i've placed my order.
