Tilt window spiral sash replacement

Quick Learner from Dallas TX
I want to replace several sashes on Windows that no loner stay open. The tube length is 30 inches, tube tip color is blue, the bottom of the tip is 2 small pi s about an inch apart. What are your recommendations.

It depends on the diameter of your balance tube.

You seem to think Series 900 is right for you; do you think your balance is 3/8" in diameter like that one? If so, S900-30 sounds right. If not, S600-30 for a 5/8" tube will be the better choice. In either case, there will be a slightly different process to choose a tip color.

Frankly, it would make more sense if your balance tube measured 5/8", since the S600-30 comes in a blue tip, whereas the S900-30 does not. If you have S600-30, you can likely just use the same tip color as before, if you check the weight of the sash to be sure it works. S600-30 in blue holds between 12 and 31 pounds.

If you truly do have a 3/8" balance, you'll need to remove and weigh the window sash to determine your tip color. It wouldn't be blue, since that isn't an option. Compare the weight to the chart on the S900-30 webpage to determine what tip color matches your weight.
