I have tilt windows that are approx. 25 years old. I purchased the house a few years ago and its clear that there was no maintenance done (i.e. the sash pivot bar has rusted and broken off into one of the pivot shoes). Some windows do not stay open at all, while others are difficult to open and close. I believe the spiral tension rod is the issue with all of them. The spiral tension rod in the attached picture was not attached at all to a window that would not stay open. It is 36" long with a diameter of 3/8". The window sash is 22.5 lbs. The spiral tension rod doesn't appear to have a color. I checked several other windows, and they also do not have a color. I need to find out the color to order for the repair.
Thank you!
