Tilt window springs help.

Greetings, I am looking to replace two springs and having trouble identifying them. both appear to be in vinyl and not aluminum (not that that makes a difference, and covered with a same colored cowling as the window vinyl color over top of the shaft of the springs. I will take off the springs this weekend to get a better look but this is what I was able to find but wanted to get a head start. Also may need to replace the locking shoes. The measurement you see is from the top of the spring tube and I don't what to measure on these springs. It looks like they extend outside the tube. Is that normal? Thanks for your help. Jim K.

Thanks for reaching out! Given you have a tilt window, your spiral balances could be either our 5/8" Series 600 Balances or our 3/8" Series 900 Spiral Balances. However, to determine the balances you need, I'll need a bit more information.
