Tilted window roller

Thanks for writing in! You have a coil balance assembly that appears to use an older discontinued shoe that is no longer available. For this, we typically recommend our 15-192 Certainteed pivot shoe but you may need to shave down the aligners from the shoe to install it into the window. Take a look at the dimensions to confirm if it may work for you.

This shoe is compatible with the Series 170 Coil Balance as well as the Series 171 Coil Balance; although, the S171 is only used in instances where there are two coils on one assembly. These are secured to the shoe using the 33-072 screw.
To confirm which spring you need from the list of springs, you'll need to remove the existing coils and check for any stamps/markings. If there are none, you'll need to obtain the exact weight of the sash and divide it by the number of coils in the window.
The compatible cover is the 15-156 CertainTeed Lance Spring Cover used along with the 15-157 CertainTeed Balance Drum.

I just finished replacing several Certain Teed pivot shoes on August 2010 Norandex Simonton windows
in addition to trimming the aligners off you more than likely will need to replace the Pivot Bar for my windows the the old pivot bars would not fit in the new pivot shoes see pics I attached for reference,

Yes, that is correct, I did forget to mention that; however that would depend on the existing pivot bar as well as the shape of the cam. That said, we also have two other options for correcting this.
The first is to use the 26-336 Pivot Bar and shaving down the collar on the tip of the bar so that it fits into the metal cam.
The second option is to swap out the cam of the shoe so that it would be compatible with the existing pivot bar tip. We advise doing so gently, and with caution, so that you do not snap the nylon casing on the pivot shoe when manipulating it.
The 3" pivot bar, with the two holes, is not recommended to use as the replacement alternative for this hardware. It is not made for compatibility with the recommended 15-192.
Thanks for posting!
