Tool needed to work with 81-266 kit

Quick Learner from elk grove village, il

OK, I got the patio door roller kit (81-266) and it looks like I should be able to rebuild the rollers on my patio door with the parts in the kit.

The only issue I have is what to use to create a head on the headless end of the "brass" roller axles to secure the axles in the brackets.

It appears I need a contured punch to curl the roller pin to form a ridge to hold the pin in place. Can you tell me what I need and where I can get it.

Thanks for writing in, Larry. You may be able to use a type of center punch to start out with and then hit it with a hammer to flatten it out. You may want to contact a local hardware store in your area to for some assistance. Check to see if they offer something to act as a hand riveter. You could also use a 1/4" rod and round the end to create the "mushroom" effect. You will also need a steel plate to back up the rivet when hitting.
