If the window is hard to close, there could be a couple of reasons as to why this is happening. The first reason that comes to mind is that may be the spring is not the correct spring to support that sash weight. You may want to remove the sash from the window, weigh it, and get back to us with that number. The only other reason I could think of is that the channel balance may have been installed incorrectly.
