Got the parts and installed on window. What makes the balance stay up when you raise the window? If I raise window balance drops out of window?

Is the balance falling entirely out of the window? It should be connected to the frame in some way. Assuming it's a channel balance, it should be hooked to a little slot in the jamb liner.
