Balances not engaging/capturing (2840) probably because top caps are damaged/missing???

Thank you for your patience during this busy season of ours. We believe you may be looking for the 18-182 top sash guide. It doesn't have the metal insert but you should be able to use it with the new top sash guide. Review the specifications and see how they compare with yours.
