Triple slide door lock

Thanks for posting, Daniel. I'm not sure what you bought from us, but I assume it was our 82-002. Unfortunately, they don't make a stronger version of this handle. This is pretty much the only thing made in this style.

That said, it definitely shouldn't be breaking like this. Does your door feel heavy? Does it take a lot of effort to open and close? If so, then the issue may be with your rollers. If your rollers are damaged or not working properly, then it takes more force to open and close the door, which puts undue pressure on the handle. It would theoretically break like you show here.

I recommend examining your door rollers to determine their condition. If my analysis is right, then you'll probably run into this same problem with every new handle you buy.

I don't think sending you a new one will fix the problem, Dan. Considering you have two handles that broke already, odds are the third one will break too. I strongly suspect there's something else going on here that's causing these handles to break. I don't think it's their quality, because as I stated before the manufacturer only makes these one way and they're designed to last well over a decade. In my experience, they usually do.

If only one of your handles broke, I would chalk it up to a defective part. However you said two broke the same way in a short span of time. The odds of both of those parts being defective is extremely low. That means there's something happening that we're not aware of. If it's not the rollers then I don't know what else it could be. I think in this situation you would be better served by contacting a local professional to come out and look at your door to determine the problem.

I want to stress that there is no "stronger" version of the 82-002. This is the only type they make. If it keeps breaking for you, then it's not the right part and I would not recommend using it a third time.
