Hi, I recently purchased a keyed Mortise Style Handle Set (ITEM 82-081) . When I went to install I found that the parts did not fit together properly.
The center screw distance (4 15/16) is correct but it appeared as if the rectangular portion of the lever arm that goes through the door or the rectangular portion of the locking assembly are too long. When I tighten the m4x40 machine screws there is a small gap between the door and exterior handle. It does not appear that I can reduce the length by either of these parts (no breakaway portions). The patio door that I have is 1.5" in thickness.
Wanted to confirm that I received the correct parts as the installation instructions that I received with the order were for a handle set without a locking assembly. I think that I have all the necessary parts but perhaps there is a different part of a different thickness for this handle set. I have exterior handle DR05-1540, interior handle DR05-1510, and mounting base DR05-1530. Please advise.

I'm not sure what the problem may be. Can you show me a picture of your original handle set side by side with the 82-081 you received? That would be a huge help. It's also possible you just need to cut the key cylinder tail. They come a little longer than needed so that you can cut it down to the proper size.
