Truth brand casement window mechanism broken

Home Owner from Birmingham, AL

The screw mechanism "retaining ring" (?) has popped out. Unable to screw it back in as the threads that held it in are stripped. Being from the South even tried JB Weld Epoxy & that did not hold either. No one around here seems to know what to do & they recommend replacing the whole window. Markings say Truth on the bars that slide out and Truth 30744 on an upper sidebar. The window dimensions are 30" W by 14.5" H. Installed in 1993 as a set of 4. This is the only one that has broken. Pics: Last to first, 894=internal parts that popped out. 896=hollow crank. 897=working crank with handle removed. 899=side bar with Truth 30744 marking. 900=bottom bars, only has a Truth marking, no numbers. Just let me know your opinion and options.

Thanks, William

Hello,

The good news is that you'll only need to replace the operator assembly, not the entire window. I'd recommend starting by comparing the specifications of the 39-348 operator to yours. We've also related the parts used with this assembly on this page for you to review. Take a look and let us know if you need anything else!
