I'm curious if it matters what side the cranks are on or is this replacement cover work regardless on where the cranks are located on the hardware.

Hello!

The 39-107FK is neutral, which means it will work on left handed and right handed operators as long as they are Truth EntryGard series operators and the spline is centered. Let me know if this helps.
