Trying to ID Window Balance
I would like to buy window balancer for two windows. The picture of one of the window is in the attachment. The other window is just the same. The size of the window is 32*27 inches. The old balancer is 27 inches long. My questions are as following:
1.If all the balancers don't work, I need 4 balancer for two windows, right?
2. https://www.swisco.com/27-inch/pd/Series-800-Channel-Balances/S800-27
Will this model fit?
3. The website is also asking for the weight of the sash, which I don't know. There are two choices, one is between 8-14 lbs, the other is between 14-20 lbs. Which one would you suggest based on the picture in the attachment?
Thank you!
Meng
Thanks for contacting SWISCO. I think we can help you replace your old balances but I'll need a little more information. First of all, it is very unlikely this is a Series 800 balance as it looks like the metal channel is 1/2" or 9/16" in width, while our Series 800 balances have a width of 3/8". Do the other balances you need to replace have more than one attachment at the ends of the metal channel? If so, could you take a picture of the other attachment? This is vital for helping us identify the kind of balance you need.
Yes, if the balances don't work for two windows, you will need 4 balances.
Finally, are there any stamps imprinted upon the balances? If so, please send us a picture. It is best to weigh your window sash so we know how much weight your balances need to support; but any stamp number will also give us a clue to the weight range. Thanks.
