Tube balance attached to bottom of sash

Restoring late 1930s windows with tube balances.  The balances are secured to the sash on the bottom of the sash.

Thanks for writing in! Your spiral balance assemblies can be replaced with the 5/8" diameter, S500-18 and S500-20 non-tilt balances. While I am confident that these are the right replacements, you'll need to be sure to double check the diameter.

You'll notice, both balances are available (on the website) in red and blue tip options. To confirm the tip color for the replacements, you'll need to confirm the exact weight of your window sash. There is a chart below the product descriptions (for both balances) that lists the weight ranges each option will support.

This balance does not come with the clip that yours has, so you will need to purchase the 17-012 Bracket, #32.
