Unable to Screw In Pivot Bar All of the way

Despite purchasing the exact same pivot bar as existing one and using the same fasteners customers are unable to screw them all of the way in. They go in half way before just stopping. The photos are for verification that both the new and old bars are the same size. Is anyone familiar with this issue and do you know what size screws are used for this part?

Hello,

I agree that your pivot bar looks like a match to the 26-366. With that being said, we haven't heard of many customers having trouble installing it as you've described. One thought is that you may need to use self-tapping screws since the holes in this pivot bar aren't threaded, which could be why the customer is meeting some resistance. We recommend using #6 self-tapping screws for this pivot bar. Thanks for posting!

What is the Swisco part number for the #6 self-tapping screws? Current screw length is 1/2" Thank you

Unfortunately, we do not carry a 1/2" long #6 self-tapping screw but a local hardware store should be able to provide them.
